The purpose was never simply to read books.
It was always to help people grow. Understanding that, is what changed the organisation.
2017
A community around books
Igniters began as an online community centred on reading and discussing transformational books. Each month the community chose a book, read it together, and reviewed it weekly. The selections came from Christian authors alongside respected writers on leadership, character, productivity, personal development, and purposeful living.
The years after
Faithful, and honest
By God’s grace the community stayed active for several years, experimenting with different methods to sustain engagement. Over time, we evolved our approach to help people grow.
Now
From a book club to a growth community
Igniters meets monthly around a theme, and we take the theme from whatever the community is carrying that season. We spend the time on conversation, practice, and prayer.
Books still matter, and we recommend them often. They support the month now instead of filling it.

Igniters is the flagship community of The Igniters Outreach Initiatives. Future Builders and OneFleshStories are taking shape alongside it, and others will follow.
We open each one when it can serve people well.

Who we serve
Mostly young people. If you are studying, starting out, or building a home, this was written with you in mind.
You do not have to fit that description to belong here. Anyone who wants to grow is welcome.
The ambition is not to be known for hosting events, but for forming people who influence society for Christ.
Our guiding question
How does this help someone become all that God intended them to become?
Every decision we make has to answer that question. If the answer is unclear, we reconsider.
